Formal (NAM & RGD 1980). Amended (Herngreen & Wong 1989; Van Adrichem Boogaert & Kouwe 1993).
Lithologische beschrijving

Greyish brown, fine-grained, carbonaceous sandstones, separated by a silty clay succession. Both sand intervals, but especially the upper sand bed, tend to display a funnel-shaped GR-log pattern.

Afzettingsmilieu

Marginal marine barrier-island system.

Definitie ondergrens

Conformably underlain by the Middle Graben Formation.

Definitie bovengrens

Conformably overlain by the marine claystones of the Kimmeridge Clay Formation. To the south, the formation grades into the paralic Puzzle Hole Formation at the southern margin of blocks F05-F08 (Herngreen & Wong 1989).
