Brown to black peat, firm, amorphous, clayey, non-calcareous. Gyttja, firm, usually amorphous.
Afzettingsmilieu
Nutrient-poor (moss peat) to nutrient-rich (reed, sedge and woody peat) marsh and swamp.
Definitie ondergrens
Gradual transition into tidal clay (Eem Formation) or into humic periglacial sand (Boxtel Formation). Sharp contact with glaciofluvial sand and gravel (Drente Formation, Schaarsbergen Member).
Definitie bovengrens
Sharp contact with periglacial sand (Boxtel Formation) or, erosively, with fluvial gravelly sand (Kreftenheye Formation).
