Definition of lower boundary
The contact with the underlying Ten Boer Claystone is very sharp.
Definition of upper boundary
Sharp contact with the Zechstein Group.

Geographical distribution
Locally, in central Friesland and northeastern Drenthe, . The member only occurs locally in the northeast of the map sheet area. Towards the north, the east and the west this member pinches out completely.
