Lithological description
Bioturbated silty to sandy claystones. Locally glauconitic, pyritic and carbonate streaks. GR-logs show fining and coarsening upward trends. The top demonstrates coarsening upward trend in GR-log pattern.
Depositional setting
Offshore- shelf environment.
Definition of lower boundary
Diachronously overlies the Terschelling Sandstone Member; the base is younger in the southern part of the Terschelling Basin. Contact with the Terschelling Sandstone Member is conformable and marked by a downward drop in GR-log readings (bell-shape).
Definition of upper boundary
Marked by a funnel-shaped GR-log pattern, resulting from the upward decreasing clay content. Boundary with the Scruff Spiculite Member.
Thickness indication
Up to 312 m (L03-01).
