Lithologische beschrijving
Cyclic alternation of carbonates, claystones, sandstones and minor coal seams. The carbonates occur as limestone, dolomitic limestone and dolomite beds.
Afzettingsmilieu
Under paralic conditions with repeated marine incursions, during which marine limestones and claystones were formed.
Definitie ondergrens
Placed at the base of the lowermost distinct carbonate bed which conformably overlies the Tayport Formation.
Definitie bovengrens
Defined at the top of the uppermost carbonate bed, which is overlain conformably by the clastics of the Elleboog Formation.
