Geology does not stop at national borders. Several projects have correlated stratigraphic units from the Netherlands to neighbouring countries. The results from the Southern Permian Basin Area (SPBA) atlas project (Doornenbal & Stevenson 2010) are shown here:
- International correlation Carboniferous
- International correlation Permian-Rotliegend
- International correlation Permian-Zechstein
- International correlation Triassic
- International correlation Jurassic
- International correlation Cretaceous
- International correlation Late Cretaceous, southern Netherlands
- International correlation Cenozoic
The project H3O De Kempen has produced a lithostratigraphic and hydrogeological correlation table for the Cenozoic of the study area straddling the border of the Netherlands and Flanders.
The GeoERA project 3D Geomodelling for Europe (3DGEO-EU) has produced a harmonised stratigraphic table for the North Sea area of the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark.
