Lithologische beschrijving
Grey and/or red-brown calcareous shaly claystone with distinctly lower carbonate content than the under- and overlying members. Contains some, thin, coarse clastic beds.
Afzettingsmilieu
Outer-neritic marine setting, where fines and minor carbonates settled.
Definitie ondergrens
The Lower Holland Marl Member, Holland Greensand Member or Spijkenisse Greensand Member underly the member. In elevated settings the Middle Holland Claystone Member can rest on older rocks.
Definitie bovengrens
If conformable overlain by Upper Holland Marl.
